Volunteer

We like to think that all our volunteers are here for the youth, but this team in particular focuses on programming as well as filling in the gaps to make the youth's experience over the weekend unforgettable. This team is compiled mostly of Briercrest College students and we welcome all young adults to join this team.

This team is responsible for the safety and supervision of the youth, special guests, and our facility. It is the role of security to patrol our spaces and ensure safety for all our guests. This team is always ready to respond to an emergency. This team is compiled primarily of adults from the surrounding community.

Every piece of the YQ weekend is an opportunity to serve our guests and food services is one of the most tangible ways to do this. This team is led by our amazing Sodexo staff who will train and equip the volunteers to serve food throughout the weekend.

The info booth is the main centre for all questions throughout the weekend. These volunteers must be personable and have good communication skills in order to effectively answer questions and help the youth, youth workers, and guests of the retreat.

This team is crucial to running all of the sound and media throughout the weekends. Led by our amazing tech director we need people who are versed in any of the following: pro-presenter, basic sound, stage set up and tear down, and or videography.

This team will partner with the janitorial staff at Briercrest and help keep our spaces clean and safe. Tasks can include tidying spaces, taking out the garbage, vacuuming, and more.

This team exists for the physical and mental well-being of our guests and resides in our first aid center. It is important to our guests that we have trained staff on the premises throughout both of our YQ weekends. If you are an EMT responder, LPN, or RN we would love to have you.
